Former inspector-general Khalid Abu Bakar has not been informed if he is on the Immigration Department's blacklist.
Earlier, Malaysiakini reported that a second list of names to be blacklisted has been provided to Prime Minister Dr Mahathir Mohamad for his approval.
A government source told Malaysiakini that the list is related to 1MDB and other cases being investigated by the new administration.
However, Khalid told Malaysiakini this afternoon that he is not sure as to whether his name was on the list.
On the same note, the former police chief pledged his full cooperation if the government formed a Royal Commission of Inquiry (RCI) into the 1MDB scandal.
“I am dutybound to cooperate. I have nothing to hide and so there is no question of me not cooperating if a RCI is formed,” he added.
Khalid was one of those who sat in the task force which was probing the RM2.6 billion in former prime minister Najib Abdul Razak's accounts as well as the SRC International issue.
Others in the task force were former attorney-general Abdul Gani Patail, former Bank Negara governor Zeti Akthar Aziz and ex-MACC chief commissioner Abu Kassim Mohamed.
However, Adul Gani was suddenly replaced on the grounds of health reasons with Mohamed Apandi Ali.
During this period, there was also a purported draft charge sheet against Najib making the rounds, which the former government described as fake.
Najib has denied abusing public funds for personal gain. The RM2.6 billion was said to be a donation from a Saudi royalty and Apandi confirmed this.
However, international investigations suggested the sum originated from 1MDB.
Meanwhile, Khalid, who retired last year and now heads Prasarana, said he had acted according to the law in discharging his duties and therefore, had no reason to be concerned.
“During my tenure as IGP, I followed the law to the letter. So I am not worried about any impending investigations,” he added.
Previously, the former police chief was accused of being part of an alleged cover-up of the 1MDB scandal, which he and the former government denied.
On Saturday, Malaysiakini revealed that Najib and his wife, Rosmah Mansor, were barred from travelling abroad.
This was after a purported flight schedule went viral on social media claiming the former premier was to fly to Indonesia in a private jet.
Speaking to Malaysiakini, a source close to Najib said the latter wanted to go on a two-day break.
Prime Minister Dr Mahathir Mohamad later confirmed he had instructed the Immigration Department to blacklist Najib. -Mkini
