Around 5,000 people turn up in Juru tonight to support Pakatan Harapan candidates Gooi Hock Seng (Bukit Tengah), Kasthuri Patto (Batu Kawan), and Chong Eng (Padang Lalang).
The crowd goes into a frenzy as caretaker chief minister Lim Guan Eng and his father, Iskandar Puteri candidate Lim Kit Siang arrives at the venue.
An artist approaches Guan Eng and Kit Siang to present them with his sketches.
Lights from mobile phones dot the field, where thousands of plastic stools are occupied, with more stood around the area.
A nearby pasar malam goes on with business as usual.

MEANWHILE, ACCORDING TO MALAY MAIL:
ALOR SETAR,— DAP parliamentary leader Lim Kit Siang managed to attract hundreds of the Chinese community here to hear him speak at a ceramah, after joining a walkabout and a high tea with the locals this evening.
Lim who is defending the party’s parliamentary seat in Iskandar Puteri, told the crowd that among Pakatan Harapan’s (PH) top priorities would be to attract Malaysians who have left for a better life to return home.
“The best of our brains are overseas… why? It’s because we have lost our moral compass.
“The Malaysian diaspora is one million strong. If we can build a Pakatan government we will give priority to a high level commission to study how we can attract them back home to build the nation,” said Lim.
Lim added that there are roughly 500,000 Malaysians working in Singapore alone.
He also denied he was anti-Malay or anti-Islam, citing those who accused him of slander.
“We can’t be anti- anything. Malaysia is a multiracial, cultural entity. We have to look after all races and religion.
“That’s why in my history as a politician in 52 years I have never accused Mahathir or Najib of being anti-Chinese,” said Lim, referring to PH chairman Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad and his BN counterpart Datuk Seri Najib Razak.
“We want to see all leaders not behave in a racist manner,” he added,
The crowd roared their approval and gave Lim a thunderous applause as he finished addressing them.
Many had also congregated around the veteran statesman as he was heading towards his car.
Unfortunately for the next speaker, Kedah PH strategic director Abdul Rahman Ahmad, the crowd had visibly thinned by time he began talking — roughly 30 per cent had left as Lim did. – MALAY MAIL
