PUTRAJAYA: Newly appointed Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) chief commissioner Mohd Shukri Abdull clocked in for work at the MACC headquarters here at 10.29am today.
When asked by members of the media if he was happy to return to MACC, Mohd Shukri, who was deputy chief commissioner before his retirement, said: “It is tough for me.”
Mohd Shukri added that he would be holding a briefing with MACC officers today.
“Tomorrow, I will have a briefing with the media. There are interesting stories to be shared on my experience,” he said.
Mohd Shukri served with the MACC for 32 years before going on early retirement on July 31, 2016. The last position he held was MACC deputy chief commissioner (operations).
Prime Minister Dr Mahathir Mohamad named Mohd Shukri as MACC chief commissioner to replace Dzulkifli Ahmad, who sought to have his contract with MACC terminated and who reported to the Attorney-General’s Office last Tuesday. -FMT
