Khaled finally reveals he is BN's choice for Johor MB

GE14 | After over a week of uncertainty, Mohamed Khaled Nordin last night finally revealed BN has chosen for him to stay on as the Johor menteri besar if they win the state.
The uncertainty began when BN on April 23 announced Khaled will not only defend his state seat of Permas, but also contest in the parliamentary seat of Pasir Gudang in the 14th general election.
This fuelled speculations that Khaled would be moved back to the federal government and other candidates, including an executive of the controversial Forest City project who is also contesting, may replace him as the candidate for Johor menteri besar.
"This time, I am not only the Permas candidate but also the candidate for the parliamentary seat of Pasir Gudang.
"That means not only can I bring the Johorean’s voice at the state level, if I win at the parliamentary level, I can also convey the voice of Johoreans to Kuala Lumpur in Parliament.
"The opposition has questioned where I would be after this. I can tell you that I am still the BN candidate for Johor menteri besar. In terms of the party, I am the candidate to be menteri besar," he said.
Instead, Khaled said it was Pakatan Harapan that has been vague about its stance.
Zooming in on Bersatu president Muhyiddin Yassin, who is contesting the state seat of Gambir and the parliamentary seat of Pagoh, Khaled questioned who was the opposition coalition's menteri besar candidate.
"What is Muhyiddin's purpose of contesting in Gambir? Does he want to be menteri besar?
"If he wants to be menteri besar, then he should announce so," he said.
Khaled claimed Muhyiddin’s refusal to announce his intent could mean fear he would lose in Gambir.
"If he does announce, it would be an indication that he is finished at the federal level. The federal level has rejected him and he needs to find somewhere else to go," he claimed. - Mkini
