Lorry entering Najib’s house piques curiosity

Prior to the lorry’s arrival, former Parti Cinta Malaysia (PCM) vice-president Huan Cheng Guan was seen exiting the house at 5.45pm.

“I spoke to him for about 30 minutes and I told him to be patient,” he told reporters, adding that neither issues related to Dr Mahathir Mohamad and Anwar Ibrahim were raised.

Earlier today, Prime Minister Dr Mahathir Mohamad said Najib was barred from leaving the country when asked if action would be taken against the latter over the 1MDB scandal.

Mahathir had also said yesterday that he was confident that Najib would be charged over the state investment arm.

Four days ago, police had cordoned off the exit to and from the private residence of the former BN chairman.

On Monday, Inspector-General of Police Mohamad Fuzi Harun said police had tightened security at the entrance of the road going to Najib’s residence in the federal capital as a security measure.

“There are actually two indications, one is fear for the security of the former prime minister and we are also monitoring certain parties.

“At the same time, we also want to ensure the security of the residence so that nothing untoward happens,” he said. -FMT
