Defence Minister Mohamad Sabu has spoken out against an attempt to crowdfund a new car for him.
This was after reports claiming that Mohamad, better known as Mat Sabu, had wanted to go to work in his Perodua Viva.
Mohamad said reports that he had refused to use an official government vehicle in favour of his Perodua Viva are untrue.
"I would like to stress that I will utilise my privileges as a minister, but it will not go beyond (what I qualify for).
"At the same time, no collection of donations should be done in my name without my agreement or permission," he said in a statement on Facebook today.
The minister noted that messages about a ‘Fund for Mat Sabu's new car’ were circulating on social media.
He also urged the public to only refer to his official social media accounts for accurate information. - Mkini
