Former prime minister Najib Abdul Razak today withdrew his three-year-old defamation suit against DAP national publicity secretary Tony Pua and Media Rakyat owner Chan Chee Kong in relation to the Damansara MP's comments regarding 1MDB.
The settlement was recorded in Kuala Lumpur, before High Court judge Justice Ahmad Zaid Ibrahim.
Najib's lawyer Mohd Hafarizam Harun said his client has agreed to withdraw the suit with undisclosed terms.
"This withdrawal is with no liberty to file afresh," Hafarizam said.
Pua's lawyer Michelle Ng, who is also the Subang Jaya assemblyperson, confirmed the withdrawal of the suit.
This is the second withdrawal by Najib, after he earlier withdrew his suit against former MCA president Dr Ling Liong Sik.
