KUALA KANGSAR: Perak Pakatan Harapan chairman Ahmad Faizal Azumu has been sworn in as Perak Mentri Besar, paving the way to the formation of a Pakatan Harapan government in the silver state.
The swearing-in ceremony took place before Perak's Sultan Nazrin Muizzuddin Shah at Istana Iskandariah here at around 6pm Saturday (May 12).
In his address, Sultan Nazrin said Pakatan had successfully convinced him that they had achieved a simple majority of 31 seats at 12pm earlier.
"With this, I hope that the new administration will carry out their duties with integrity.
Pakatan had won 29 seats assembly seats, while Barisan had 27 seats. PAS won three seats in GE14.
Pakatan successfully secured 31 seats to form the government after two Barisan assemblymen pledged their support to them.- Star
