PKR's Rantau candidate Dr S Streram today filed an election petition at the High Court in Seremban to challenge the Election Commission's decision in announcing the victory of former Negeri Sembilan menteri besar Mohamad Hassan on April 28.
He named Mohamad, returning officer Amino Agos Suyub and the EC as respondents.
In his petition filed by law firm Messrs Haniff Khatri and Co, Streram said he was qualified to be a candidate to contest in the 14th general election for the state seat.
As such, he added, there should be two valid candidates on the nomination day, namely Mohamad and himself.
However, Amino Agos announced that Mohamad won the seat, uncontested.
