Report: After five hours, cops still counting cash from Pavilion raid

Police have yet to finish counting the cash seized during a raid on three Pavilion Residences units last Friday.
The authorities began counting several bags of cash starting 10am today and were still at it as of 3.30pm, according to a New Straits Times report.
According to the report, Bukit Aman Commercial Crime Investigation Department (CCID) director Amar Singh confirmed that the counting was still underway but declined to elaborate.
The report said the money was being counted in the department's headquarters at Menara 237 in Kuala Lumpur.
"The process is especially tedious because CCID police officers need to record the serial number of each note.
"Another factor adding to the length of time needed to complete the process was the fact that there are several different currencies involved," said the report.
It said the money will be transferred to Bukit Aman and later handed over to Bank Negara once the counting is complete.
Last Friday, police raided three condo units linked to former prime minister Najib Abdul Razak as part of the 1MDB investigation.

Police seized 72 bags of cash and jewellery as well as 284 boxes of designer handbags.
