Report: MACC raids Musa's home, seizes files

The Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) has raided the home of Sabah BN chairperson Musa Aman, seizing several files in the process.
Sources from the MACC told The Star that a team of investigators went to Musa's house in Luyang on Wednesday in relation to graft investigations.
The sources, however, reportedly said that neither Musa nor his immediate family members were present during the raid.
The sources also refused to divulge details on whether the probe was part of an investigation into alleged buying of state representatives following the results of the general election in the state which saw both BN and the Parti Warisan Sabah-led opposition coalition winning 29 seats each.
Musa's current whereabouts is unknown although he was last seen leaving Sabah for Kuala Lumpur on May 14.
Although he was present during an Umno meeting two days later, Musa did not show up for an Umno supreme council meeting on May 21, The Star reported, quoting Umno sources.
Several sources claimed that Musa had then gone to Brunei and later Singapore while some also claimed that Musa is currently in London, reportedly consulting the Queen's Counsel in his case against the state.
Sabah police are expected to wrap up investigations into the alleged criminal intimidation against the head of state once they obtain Musa's statement.
The probe started on May 14 following the report lodged by the governor, Juhar Mahiruddin.
Confirming that Musa was not in the state, Sabah police commissioner Ramli Din, however, said that no arrest warrant has been issued.
Musa's alleged threat against the governor is being investigated under Section 506 of the Penal Code for criminal intimidation.
Musa denies criminal intimidation claim
In a statement issued yesterday, Musa’s lawyer Zahir Shah said his client had denied all allegations of criminal intimidation against the head of state or anyone else.
He said Musa regretted that Juhar was dragged into the legal suit which was filed to seek a declaration that Musa is the rightful chief minister of Sabah.
Musa, said Zahir, believes that the rule of law must prevail and the state constitution must be respected.
The Sabah BN chief was sworn in as the state chief minister on May 10 after Parti Solidariti Tanah Airku (Star) president Jeffrey Kitingan decided that the party would support BN. The party had won two seats, making it the kingmaker.
Musa, however, lost the majority of the state after six BN state assemblypersons left the coalition and expressed their support for the Warisan-led coalition. Warisan president Mohd Shafie Apdal was then sworn in as the chief minister.
The MACC is believed to be checking on claims that RM20 million was used to gain support for BN to form government.
Earlier this week, some RM80,000 cash and a bank card were seized during a raid at Jeffrey's house and offices.
Jeffrey, who had his statement recorded by the MACC, had decried the raid and insisted that the MACC must also investigate state representatives from BN who crossed over to Warisan. - Mkini
