The appointment and swearing-in of Kedah’s new menteri besar, initially scheduled for yesterday, will now take place at 3 pm today at Istana Anak Bukit near here.
According to an official invitation, the ceremony is set to take place at the Balairung Seri Kecil (Minor Throne Room) following the consent was given by the Sultan of Kedah, Sultan Sallehuddin Almarhum Sultan Badlishah.
However, there has been no information on who will be appointed the menteri besar.
No party or coalition of parties has won the minimum of 19 seats in the 14th general election on May 9 for a simple majority to form the state government.
The Pakatan Harapan, led by Mukhriz Mahathir in the state, won 18 of the 36 seats in the Kedah legislative assembly while PAS won 15 and the Barisan Nasional, three. - Mkini
