IPOH: A government retiree today lodged a police report against Pasir Salak MP Tajuddin Abdul Rahman for allegedly abusing his powers as Felcra Bhd chairman from 2008-2014.
Mohamad Maharani Md Tasi claimed that Tajuddin, former agriculture and agro-based deputy minister, had also used Felcra money when campaigning in the 13th general election in 2013.
However, Mohamad Maharani is also the subject of a police report against him by settlers of Badan Blok B Felcra Seberang Perak, in Pasir Salak.
They accused Mohamad Maharani, former chairman of the settlement cooperative, of criminal breach of trust.
In Mohamad Maharani’s report against Tajuddin, he said that Tajuddin had used money from Felcra Changkat Lada “to foot the bill for feasts at his residence and used so much funds from Felcra Changkat Lada that Felcra failed to give better dividends to its participants”.
“Three Felcra oil palm mills were also sold below the market price, and a cattle-rearing project was stolen from Felcra before the big floods that hit Felcra Seberang Perak in 2014 and 2015,” said Mohamad Maharani, who stood for election as PKR candidate for the Sungai Manik state seat in the general election.
Speaking to reporters after lodging a report at Ipoh police headquarters today, he said that there were many other cases of abuses by Tajuddin and he urged the police and the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission to investigate.
The report against Mohamad Maharani was lodged by Mohd Razali Yahya, 39, who represented 113 settlers. He made the report at noon at Kampong Gajah police station. - FMT
