In a press conference at Shuhaimi Shafiei’s office, Zakaria Samsudin, a hawker, said his family was struggling as a result of the Barisan Nasional (BN) government’s policies.
He also accused Umno of no longer having integrity.
“I fell that the burden we face from the (BN) leadership, especially relating to the economy, is not that good, because I’m a hawker.
Though I operate from a roadside, I can feel that the situation now is a far cry from that under the previous leadership,” the Seri Sarawak Umno branch leader said.
The pact has made criticism of BN’s policies, such as the introduction of the Goods and Services Tax, a cornerstone of its election campaign.
