We’re still in BN, stresses MyPPP after Kayveas declared exit

MyPPP is still part of the BN coalition, according to the party's deputy secretary-general Simon Sabapathy.
The Star Online quotes Simon as insisting that the announcement from sacked president M Kayveas was invalid as he had no authority to speak on behalf of the party.
Kavyeas announced MyPPP’s exit from BN yesterday, after claiming he had received confirmation from the Registrar of Societies that he was still party president.
Simon stressed, however, that Kayveas had failed to appeal his sacking, and as such no longer held any position in the party.
He added that the ROS has been made aware of the former president’s ouster.
Simon also pointed out that even if Kayveas were still president, he would not be able to unilaterally declare that MyPPP is no longer part of BN.
"Kayveas cannot unilaterally make such a big decision without consulting the supreme council," he said, adding that that MyPPP is currently mulling taking an injunction against its former president.
As to whether MyPPP will remain part of BN in the future, The Star Online also reports that the party will come to a decision at their general assembly.
"It is a big decision. We need to know what the members feel about it and have the members decide collectively in a vote.
“It is not for Kayveas to decide," Simon said.
In April, Kayveas had said that he was withdrawing his resignation as party president, claiming an internal plot to "hijack" the party.
MyPPP, however, insists that he did not resign voluntarily, but was sacked. - Mkini
