Businessman offers RM10k reward for credible tips until Jamal is arrested

A businessman is willing to fork out RM10,000 for credible information regarding the whereabouts of fugitive Sungai Besar Umno leader Jamal Md Yunos.
According to Lim Lip Eng, the businessman had conveyed this to him during a dinner last night.
“I called him this morning to re-confirm. And he confirmed the reward.
“So I asked him what if Jamal runs away after learning about the tip-off.
“The businessman said that it was not an issue. As long as the information was credible and helps the police track him (Jamal), the person would receive the reward,” he told Malaysiakini.
Asked if the reward was a one-off thing, the Kepong MP replied that it would be given for each and every credible information right up to when Jamal is arrested.
Lim also said the businessman has no agenda with regard to offering the reward.
“He is just angry that a person can escape when wanted by the police. He is doing this because he wants to ensure Malaysia has rule of law,” added the DAP leader.
Jamal went missing on May 25 after being charged at the Ampang Puteri Hospital in Kuala Lumpur, with regard to a protest where he smashed beer bottles in front of the state secretariat building in Shah Alam.
He is also being investigated for a firearms offence over a viral photograph showing the firebrand politician holding a child with one hand while a gun was tucked in his waistband.
In a video released later, Jamal, who appeared to in an oil palm plantation, claimed that he was being victimised by the Pakatan Harapan government.
He also claimed that the photograph of him with the gun was doctored.
The police have since obtained an arrest warrant for the Umno man, who is believed to have fled to an island in a neighbouring country despite the immigration department claiming there was no record of him leaving Malaysia.

Yesterday, Jamal, in a Facebook post, announced his candidacy for the Umno Youth chief post in the June 23 party polls.
“My intention is to rebuild the fighting spirit among Umno members nationwide, especially among the youth," said the 48-year-old politician. - Mkini
