Koon Yew Yin
THE 2 articles criticising Anwar by Farida Reiss and Mujahidin Zulkiffli and comments which have been circulating through WhatsApp prompted me to write this piece.
One commentator wrote that he hopes voters will not elect Anwar to be a MP at a by-election specially tailored for him to be the next PM even if Pakatan Harapan has to lose a seat in Parliament.
Based on my 50 years’ experience in managing companies, watching the stock market and looking at companies’ announcements, I have never seen one company director criticising any director for any wrongdoing openly. The reason is to avoid sending the wrong message to frighten shareholders and potential investors.
For the same reason, Anwar cannot criticise our Finance Minister openly to frighten investors, especially foreign investors to invest in Malaysia.
Just like many Malays including Anwar’s boys have questioned why Tun Dr Mahathir appointed Lim Guan Eng, a Chinese to be the Finance Minister. They must bear in mind that Guan Eng has a marvellous track record in managing Penang while he was the Chief Minister of Penang.
I trust readers will circulate this article to all their contacts so that they can also circulate it to all their contacts and hopefully it will eventually reach Anwar and Tun Dr Mahathir.
Anwar, you have been too long in the jail. You have lost touch; you don’t quite understand that there is New Malaysia in place!! Not UMNO Baru, but Malaysia Baru! You have taken some serious missteps.
When Dr M was firm while waiting for the King to sign off his appointment, we witnessed your excessive kissing of Royal hands when in fact it was not necessary.
We did not understand your meeting with so many Royals. It was the Rakyat and many PH people who worked hard and ensured the people’s victory of May 9th. So we can only interpret that your meetings with so many Royals were just a political and unnecessary wayang kulit.
The next thing was when you came out and tried to justify Rafizi’s questioning of Dr M’s key cabinet appointments.
The people all appreciated Dr M’s super efforts since day 1, and we don’t appreciate PKR leaders playing up their own importance. Dr M has a super big job to do, so the least we could do was to support him 100%. Now this episode with Guan Eng!
You are talking exactly like how Najib was saying; about not owning up to the true national financial situation.
The vast majority of Malaysians and most professionals have no problem whatsoever with how Dr M and Guan Eng are handling the situation.
We are pleased that they are actively acting to get our money back, etc etc. Foreign investors, Moody’s, etc are economic animals.
There is no need to be nice to them. We get our Finance basics right; you can guarantee that they will all want to come and invest and make a buck for themselves. Can we ask you please to let Dr M and Guan Eng do their job?
Without too much unhelpful commentary from you?
Terima Kasih.
