The “New Malaysia” that was being ushered in by the Pakatan Harapan administration was essentially the manifestation of DAP’s “Malaysian Malaysia” said PAS researcher Mohd Zuhdi Marsuki.
In an article published by PAS organ Harakah today, Zuhdi said “Malaysian Malaysia” – an ideology which he said was rejected for 60 years – was now being forced on the bumiputera community, albeit in a disguse.
“It is clouding the judgment of the bumiputera community of their agenda. The theme being used is ‘New Malaysia’.
“This renewal process was breaking away from the original social contract.
“In view of this, there will no longer be special treatment for certain races and the supremacy of a certain religion,” Zuhdi wrote.
He said that the drastic reforms taking place were threatening the four pillars of Malaysian society: Islam as the religion of the federation, the Malay rulers, the Malay language and lastly, the special rights of the bumiputera.
“What is worrying is that the Malaysian Malaysia (agenda) by Harapan after winning GE14 was (implemented at a) drastic (pace).
“This can result in retaliatory action by the bumiputera, who make up the majority in this country.
“We are confident that DAP (Harapan component party) is the one that is working hard to realise (Malaysian Malaysia),” he wrote.
