Singapore: Jho Low on Interpol red notice since 2016

Singapore has revealed that Interpol issued red notices for Malaysians Low Taek Jho and Tan Kim Loong in October 2016 at its request.
In a statement today, three Singaporean enforcement agencies said they have outstanding arrest warrants against the duo for 1MDB-related matters since April and May 2016.
"Interpol published red notices in October 2016, for Low and Tan, who are suspected to have committed offences in Singapore and cannot be located here.
"All members of Interpol, including Malaysia, would have been aware of the red notices when they were published," says the statement.
The statement was issued by the Singapore Attorney-General's Chambers, Singapore Police Force and Monetary Authority of Singapore.
Checks on Interpol's website do not list Low and Tan as being wanted by Singapore. Interpol members are not obliged to have the matter publicised.
Low is believed to be a central figure in the 1MDB affair, which is being investigated by several jurisdictions across the globe.
Switzerland and Singapore have initiated punitive action against bankers and banks involved in 1MDB transactions.
Malaysian authorities have not sought Low in earnest until BN was ousted from power on May 9. Low is now wanted by the MACC over investigations concerning 1MDB and SRC International Sdn Bhd.
Earlier today, Prime Minister Dr Mahathir Mohamad said Low was in a country which does not have an extradition agreement with Malaysia.
Low is also believed to enjoy strong ties with former prime minister Najib Abdul Razak's family.  - Mkini
