TOO LITTLE TOO LATE, GERAKAN CALLS FOR UMNO TO BE EXPELLED FROM BN INSTEAD OF COMPONENTS QUITTING THE PACT – EVEN AS MALAY GROUPS HIRED BY ‘UNKNOWN PERSONS’ PUMP UP ANGER AGAINST NON-MALAYS

BN component parties should hold a supreme council meeting to decide on whether to expel Umno instead of leaving the coalition, said Gerakan Youth chief Andy Yong.
He pointed out that each component party president in BN has a vote with regard to the highest body decision-making process.
“One needs to understand that BN doesn’t belong to Umno but the component parties.
“It had been a mistake to allow Umno to dominate most of the high positions of BN in the past such as deputy chairperson, secretary-general, and treasurer-general,” he added in a statement. – – M’kini
FOUR HELD OVER BANNERS ACCUSING NON-MALAYS OF DISRESPECTING RULERS
Police have arrested four men for allegedly putting up a slew of banners which were seditious and racial around Pandamaran in Klang, Selangor.
Among others, the banners accused non-Malays of disrespecting the Malay rulers.
Klang Selatan district police chief Shamsul Amar Ramli said two men aged 22 and 24 were arrested on June 8.
Following this, he told Malaysiakini that two more suspects aged 24 and 47, were detained yesterday.
“Police took action after a report was lodged on the incident which happened on June 8. Officers from Klang Municipal Council had immediately brought down the banners,” he added.
Shamsul said police have obtained a remand extension for the first two suspects until Thursday while the other two have been remanded until Friday to facilitate investigations.
The case is being investigated under Section 4(1) of the Sedition Act 1948.
Meanwhile, a source in the Klang Municipal Council said one of the suspects claimed to have been hired by unknown persons and had no knowledge about what was written on the banners.
“The banners mentioned Hindraf and reading from the banners,” he added.
A two-minute clip of one of the suspects putting up the banner along Jalan Jambu Laut has made the rounds on social media.
The clip showed a man scolding one of the suspects who claimed that he was innocent and did not know what was written on the banner.
The banners featured the images of Hindraf 2.0 leader P Uthayakumar, DAP lawmaker Tony Pua and Yang di-Pertuan Agong Sultan Muhammad V.
The banners read, “Jangan Perlekeh Raja-Raja Melayu. Daulat Tuanku (Do not belittle the Malay rulers)”, “Hindraf Jangan Biadap!! Jangan Persoal Hak Ketuanan Melayu (Hindraf don’t be insolent, Don’t question the rights of Malay hegemony” and “Pendatang Jangan Terlampau Sangat! Jangan Main Dengan Api (Immigrants, don’t go overboard. Don’t play with fire.)” — M’kini
