Viral full cabinet list inaccurate, say gov't sources

The full cabinet list circulating on social media is inaccurate, according to sources close the government.
"It does not look like the final list, though it appears to be accurate for most.
"Some of the names are missing and they are not at the right portfolios. This is probably not the right list," sources told Malaysiakini.
Last week, Malaysiakini reported that Prime Minister Dr Mahathir Mohamad had submitted the names of 15 additional cabinet members to the Yang di-Pertuan Agong Sultan Muhammad V.
"There will be a total of 28 ministers, two each from Sabah and Sarawak. Deputy ministers are also included, along with names for senators who might be appointed as well," a government source had said.
Among those on the list for minister positions are PKR's Saifuddin Abdullah, Amanah's Khalid Samad as well as DAP's Teresa Kok.
In a statement last night, Istana Negara said the additional ministers would be sworn in next Monday, July 2.
Thirteen ministers were sworn in on May 21.
Yesterday, Prime Minister Dr Mahathir Mohamad said the full cabinet list has been finalised and the swearing-in ceremony would take place soon.
However, he declined to reveal the names on the list, saying it would be known when the ministers are sworn in.
Wan Azizah: Wait and see
Meanwhile, Deputy Prime Minister Dr Wan Azizah Wan Ismail said she did not have a proper look at the viral list.
“I have not looked at it properly and I think the PM will probably announce it on Monday.
“I think the King has come out with a statement that there is going to be the swearing-in on Monday, so wait and see,” she told reporters this morning.
Asked if the 30 percent women quota would be met, the PKR president replied: “As I said, I didn’t check.”
Met at a briefing for MPs in Parliament this morning, Amanah secretary-general Mohd Anuar Tahir disputed the veracity of the viral list.
“No, I don't think so (it is real).
“There is a lot of speculation and (based on previous viral lists) I have changed four ministries already,” said the Termerloh MP, who is listed as deputy works minister in the latest list.
Amanah communications director and Shah Alam MP Khalid Samad said he had not seen the list in question.
“Whatever list there is, it is not official,” he stressed when met at the same event.
However, Khalid confirmed he had been offered a ministerial post by Mahathir but claimed that the portfolio has not been ascertained.
“He offered and I said 'okay'. But this is subject to confirmation by the Pakatan Harapan presidential council and the Agong,” he added.
Khalid was named as federal territories minister on the list.
