KOTA KINABALU: Newly-promoted Sabah state secretary Hashim Paijan and Chief Judge of Sabah and Sarawak David Wong Dak Wah head the Sabah head of state Juhar Mahiruddin’s 65th birthday celebrations honours list on Saturday.
The duo are the only recipients of the state’s highest award Seri Panglima Darjah Kinabalu (SPDK) that carries the title Datuk Seri Panglima.
A total of 65 people are awarded the Panglima Gemilang Darjah Kinabalu (PGDK), which carries the title Datuk.
Among those who will receive the title are federal International Trade and Industry Minister and Warisan deputy president Darell Leiking, Deputy Chief Minister and Sabah PKR chief Christina Liew and Health and People’s Wellbeing Minister and Sabah DAP chief Stephen Wong.
The other state ministers who will also be come Sabah’s newest Datuks will be Agriculture and Food Industry Minister Junz Wong, Rural Development Minister Ewon Benedick and Youth and Sports Minister Frankie Poon.
Also making the list are assistant ministers Uda Sulai and Jimmy Wong as well as those who already have the title, including Infrastructure Development Minister Peter Anthony, Deputy Chief Minister Jaujan Sambakong, federal Tourism and Culture Minister Mohamaddin Ketapi and Deputy Home Minister Azis Jamman.
Sabah National Registration Department (NRD) head Ismail Ahmad, Permanent Secretary to the Tourism, Culture and Environment Ministry Datu Rosmadi Datu Sulai and prominent local lawyer Duncan Sikodol were also conferred the award.
A total of 25 assemblymen and MPs from Warisan and PH were also conferred the Ahli Setia Darjah Kinabalu (ASDK) award.
Sabah PKR deputy chairman Mustapha Sakmud is among 12 people who have been made Justice of Peace (JP) while new Sabah Water Department director Amarjit Singh is among 252 recipients of the Ahli Darjah Kinabalu (ADK).
Meanwhile, 234 people received the Bintang Setia Kinabalu (BSK); 333 the Bintang Kinabalu (BK) and 141 the Certificate of Honours (CH). -FMT
