KUALA TERENGGANU: Incumbent PKR deputy president Datuk Seri Azmin Ali (pic) says he will leave any complaints on the results of the PKR party polls in the hands of the election committee.
"Let them look into any objections and take necessary actions," he said after his campaign trail in Terengganu on Monday (Oct 1).
This comes after party vice-president Rafizi Ramli called on the party's election committee to nullify the party election results in Labis, Johor, claiming that a member of the election committee had interfered in the process.
According to Rafizi, who is fighting Azmin for the deputy president post, the individual had helped a member vote and also tried to influence other members on who they should vote for.
."This isn't the first time as there have been many complaints before so just let the election committee investigate.
"No one can interfere with election committee matters," he said.
Azmin said the party election is an internal competition which should be handled in an orderly manner.
"It shouldn't be done in a way where it raises tension among members and causes disunity," he said.
Azmin, who is leading in the race to become the party's second-in-command after beating Rafizi in Johor and Penang, said he was grateful for the support.
"I am very grateful for the support tonight and I have to bring the message down to our members that whatever the situation, they must always prioritise party solidarity," he said.
Joining him at the Terengganu leg of his campaign trail were party vice-president Tian Chua and PKR Wanita chief Zuraida Kamaruddin.- Star
