The sale of government assets to pay its debt will not involve those under Permodalan Nasional Bhd (PNB), the political secretary to Minister of Finance, Tony Pua, said today.
Pua issued a statement to clarify his earlier comments on the need for Khazanah Nasional Bhd and PNB to review and offload their non-strategic assets.
“I would like to make a clarification and correction to my statement above that any sale of our assets, if at all, would not involve PNB.
“This is because, while PNB is an entity incorporated and managed by the government, the funds and investments by PNB belong to the unit holders and not the government,” Pua added.
