A Short Time Line Of Religion - The Canonical Hadith Were A Persian Effort

Here is some quick research folks. We praise and thank Allah swt for the Internet. You just need to know WHAT to look for and you can find it instantly.

Before the Internet the following few paragraphs would have taken me a few weeks to research - doing research in my library or at the universities.  Now it is all as fast as the speed of my fingertips.

In the pantheon of extra Quranic theologies, the sunnis place their faith on the
  • hadith and sunnah,
  • ijma or consensus
  • qiyas or analogies

Yet few Muslims will know even a simple  time line of   their sectarian theologies.

Whether they are sunni, shia, salafi, soofy or whatever sect, everyone believes that their respective theologies  comes to them straight from the mouth of the messenger.

The fact is the famous hadith collection that is available that is attributed to Bukhari (for example) is not even written by his hands. Bukhari died without leaving behind any fully written down book of hadith. There are no original manuscripts either, from the hands of Bukhari. It was put together much later by others.

In  the sunni tradition they believe that the messenger  lived and died between 569 AD and 632 AD.  The verses of the Quran indicate that the Quran was written down during the life time of the messenger.

No. 1  -  After the death of the messenger in 632 AD the founders of the sunni sects  or schools of fiq’h first began to appear.

Although there were many schools of fiq’h, the four major sunni sects that survived until today are  :

1. Abu Hanifa 699 AD - 767 AD (died  135 years after the rasul)
2. Malik bin Anas 711 AD - 795 AD (died 163 years after the rasul)
3. Shafie 767 AD - 820 AD (born 188 years after the rasul)
4. Ahmad ibn Hanbal 780 AD - 855 AD (died 223 years after the rasul)

Even these four founders of the major sunni sects did not leave behind any fully written down books. There are no books that survived Abu Hanifa, the founder of the Hanafi sect. There is no original work of Abu Hanifa to be found in any library or museum. Later generations of writers completed the narratives.

The famous book Al Risalah that is the magnum opus of the Shafie sect was not written by Shafie.  Later generations of his followers would ultimately compile a book and attribute it to Shafie.  There is no original Al Risalah by the hands of Shafie to be found in any library or museum.

No. 2  -  After the fiq'h writers, next to appear in the pantheon of sunni theological  writings would be the writers of the SIX CANONICAL hadith sometimes known as sahih sittah.

The  six most well known in the sunni sect will  be:
  1. Bukhari 810 AD - 870 AD (died 238 years after the rasul)
  2. Muslim 821 AD - 875 AD (died 243 years after the rasul)
  3. Tirmizi 824 AD - 892 AD (born 260 years after the rasul)
  4. Abu Dawood 817 AD - 889 AD (died 257  years after the rasul)
  5. Ibn Maja 824 AD - 887 AD (died  255 years after the rasul)
  6. Nesai 829 AD - 915 AD (died 283 years after the rasul)

Please note that all these six writers of the six sunni canonical hadith were contemporaries. All six of them were born between 810 AD and 829 AD ie within 19 years of each other.

All six of them were also Persians.

Bukhari was a Persian born in Bokhara, Uzbekistan.

Muslim was a Persian born in Neyshapur, Khorasan.

Tirmizi was a Persian born in Tirmiz, Uzbekistan

Abu Dawood was a Persian born in Sistan, Iran.

Ibn Maja was a Persian born in Qazwin, Iran.

Nesai was a Persian born in Nisa, Turkmenistan.

It is obvious that the canonical hadith was a Persian construct.

No. 3 The Ijma came later. There is no definitive information about the ijma. Some researchers say that the ijma took 450 years to be crystallised. Exactly when this 450 years started or when it ended is also debateable.

To those who are interested do save, download, forward (viral) this short piece of information.  You should know the history of those things that have such a huge impact  on how you constantly pass judgement on your neighbours.
