Rocky yesterday asked
So who’s Daim so peeved at?
I know the answer.
It’s this guy la,
And it’s not just because Daim is not happy with him bringing in tonnes of political appointees into his ministry.
From what I heard, it’s more because Guan Eng doesn’t know how to do his job as finance minister.
Really.
I was told that Daim did not really enjoy having to do Guan Eng’s work such as having to talk to the Chinese about reviving the Najib-initiated ECRL the other day.
Want to hold important ministerial post but doesn’t know how to do the job. Needed an old man to save his ass.
I shudder to think how it’s going to be if suddenly tomorrow, Daim and Dr Mahathir are no longer around to get things done.
As for the trend of bringing in political appointees to replace civil servants, I think that’s the case with all DAP ministers.
Try check Teresa Kok’s ministry. You would be shocked.
And those political appointees, given high grades with very good pay, don’t even know how to do their job. Just like their ministers.
Try ask civil servants who were forced to work with them, if you all don’t believe me.
Some can’t even speak the national language properly.
But, I’m not going to complain too much about this.
Guan Eng and his DAP gang are in power, so suka hati them all la what they want to do.
Really. It doesn’t matter that they got rid of thousands of contracted civil servants and replaced them with “our own people” at a much higher cost, right?
Many civil servants voted for Pakatan Harapan anyway. So, they have to bear with this shit for now.
Pakatan leaders kept asking for Malaysians to give them more time after a year of not performing and screwed ups.
I guess they were also asking the civil servants to give their political appointees more time to take over and screwed up their jobs.
So who’s Daim so peeved at?
Is that 4-0 or 5-0 political appointees, Tun? |
In his most recent interview, Daim Zainuddin took a swipe at Cabinet ministers who bring in their own people (political appointees) to take the place of civil servants. [After grouses about civil service, Daim tells ministers that trust is a two-way street, The Malay Mail]
I was wondering how long it would take the “quiet one” to break his silence on this sheer stupidity. The first anniversary of PH rule seemed like a good time to do that. Daim fell short, however, of naming these Ministers. Which to me suggests that those errant Ministers and their “people” are quite a formidable force in today’s government (which Daim is not officially part of, by the way).
Friends told me Daim is actually pissed off with one particular Cabinet minister, not “ministers” as reported (although the use of political appointees is not confined to that one minister). This particular Minister, it is said, has brought in 40 of his own people and placed them in key posts within his ministry, effectively taking over the roles (and posts and perks) that have always been meant for the civil servants.
Daim said civil servants have complained to him that political appointees appeared to hold the reins to some ministries, which he said was further alienating the public workers.
Wait a minute. 40 political appointees?! I thought after May 9 last year we were not going to see any more of these so-called political appointees? In fact, one of the first things the PH government did after winning GE14 and becoming the government was to end the contracts of so-called political appointees!
But that’s not the only reason why Daim’s mad …
