The Special Election Court here has set June 12 for the decision on the Jasin Parliamentary Election Petition at the Kuala Lumpur High Court.
Counsel Muniandy Vestanathan, who is representing Pakatan Harapan's candidate in the 14th general election for the seat, Datuk Seri Khairuddin Abu Hassan, said the hearing of the petition at the Election Court here ended yesterday.
“A total of 44 witnesses were called to testify during the hearing. Now pending submission and decision,” he said when contacted by Bernama today.
On March 6, the Election Court rejected the initial objection of Jasin MP Datuk Seri Ahmad Hamzah to strike out the election petition filed by Khairuddin as the petitioner, and fixed full trial to commence on March 11.
Khairuddin, in his petition, named Ahmad as the first respondent, Jasin Parliamentary Election returning officer, Zamrud Yahya as the second respondent and the Election Commission as the third respondent.
