PETALING JAYA: MCA is accusing the DAP of hypocrisy after the party held the debate session of its National Conference behind closed doors on Sunday (May 5).
In a Facebook post Monday (May 6), MCA president Datuk Seri Dr Wee Ka Siong said DAP advisor Lim Kit Siang had previously lambasted MCA for holding its AGM behind closed doors.
According to Dr Wee's post, DAP secretary-general Lim Guan Eng had told reporters on Sunday that the closed-door session with 969 of its delegates at the Ideal Convention Centre in Shah Alam was to allow discussion of policies.
"This is a departure from the practice of the previous 10 years, where the media was always allowed to cover the debates," Dr Wee said in his post.
In Dec 2018, Kit Siang had asked if the MCA AGM was being held behind closed doors to protect Dr Wee and the party leadership from delegates' attacks
In his Facebook post, Dr Wee included a link to Kit Siang’s statement on the MCA AGM, as well as to a news article of the DAP delegates' debate behind closed doors.-Star
