KUALA LUMPUR: Top cop Abdul Hamid Bador today played down Warisan’s demand that Special Branch (SB) personnel identify themselves when attending media events organised by the party, saying the police would continue to carry out their duties and that he does not wish to make an issue of it.
“Maybe I will get my men to carry placards identifying themselves as police,” he quipped when asked if he had agreed to the request.
He was speaking to reporters after attending the handing over of duties to his deputy Mazlan Mansor.
This comes after Warisan vice-president Junz Wong said yesterday that SB personnel would be allowed to attend party or government functions provided that they identify themselves as police officers.
