MP accused of sexual harassment, showing lawyer 'Kamasutra' book

A PKR lawmaker in Perak and a former party division treasurer in the state have filed police reports against each other.
In her report, sighted by Malaysiakini, the woman accused the first-term MP of sexual harassment. The latter, on the other hand, alleged that she subjected him to mental torture and trauma.
Malaysiakini is withholding the name of the MP pending comments from the PKR leadership on the matter. The portal has also contacted the MP and the woman for their response.
According to a source, the former treasurer, who is also a lawyer, lodged the report on May 16 claiming to have been sexually harassed by the MP since December.
The woman claimed she received text messages from the MP which read, “I love you, sayang.”
Apart from this, she also alleged that the MP often made video calls to her, showing a book on Kamasutra, an ancient Indian text on sexuality and eroticism, as well as pornographic images.
According to her, the sexual harassment started after she began working for the MP following the 14th general election and the latest incident occurred last month.
In her report, the woman said she had complained to her husband about the alleged harassment and tendered her resignation.
“The MP met me and my husband and apologised. He promised not to repeat his actions. But it (sexual harassment) did not stop,” she claimed.
The woman also filed a police report against a MIC central working committee (CWC) member, whom she accused of abetting the MP.
Meanwhile, the MP, in his May 4 police report, detailed how he suffered from mental torture and trauma due to the woman flooding him with phone calls.
When contacted, Wanita PKR chief Haniza Mohamed Talha told Malaysiakini the matter must be thoroughly investigated.
"Investigations must be conducted on the police report lodged by the complainant (against the lawmaker). Action must be taken based on the result of the probe," she said, adding no one was above the law. - Mkini
