KUALA LUMPUR: Vacant posts in Bukit Aman’s top brass, including the posts of Deputy IGP and Special Branch director, will be filled soon, says Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin.
The Home Minister said there was no problem in filling them, following the retirement of several Bukit Aman directors recently.
“I believe all appointments will be settled soon.
“It has to go through the process of submitting the name to the Prime Minister, who will then bring it to the Yang di-Pertuan Agong (for consent),” he told a press conference after witnessing the handing over ceremony for the IGP’s post.
Datuk Seri Abdul Hamid Bador has taken over from outgoing IGP Tan Sri Mohamad Fuzi Harun.
The remaining vacant posts include Deputy IGP, Special Branch director, CID director and Narcotic Crimes Investigation Department (NCID) director, all of which are being temporarily held.
Asked whether the post of Deputy IGP would be settled within a week, Muhyiddin said he believed it should be concluded soon.- Star
