SHAH ALAM: Water supply has been restored to about 90% of the areas affected by three main pipes that burst near the Banting-Taiping West Coast Expressway (WCE) last Saturday.
Air Selangor Sdn Bhd said work was underway to restore supply by boosting water levels in ponds and increasing pressure in the distribution system to the other areas.
Among the areas still affected as at 6am today are Batu Belah, Bandar Sultan Sulaiman, Bandar Puteri and Putera 2, Jalan Kapar Batu 1-5, Kampung Keretapi, Sri Perantau Flats and Bandar Parkland.
Air Selangor’s Customer Relations and Communications Department chief Abdul Raof Ahmad said tanker lorries would continue to be mobilised and service centres would remain operational until the supply was fully restored.
The water disruption caused by the burst piles at the WCE project site affected 800,000 consumers in 65 areas in Klang. - FMT
