SRC director still signing documents while on the run

NAJIB TRIAL | Former SRC International Sdn Bhd director Suboh Md Yassin signed a directors’ resolution to appoint Ihsan Perdana Sdn Bhd as SRC's corporate social responsibility (CSR) partner while in Bangkok, Thailand.
Suboh (photo, above) told the High Court in Kuala Lumpur today that he was instructed to do so by fellow director Nik Faisal Ariff Kamil.
"He said he has unfinished business on CSR," said Suboh, while under examination by DPP Ishak Mohd Yusoff.
Suboh said a Thai person had handed him the document and Nik Faisal's signature was already on the document, which he said was not dated at the time.
"After I signed (the document), I gave it back to (the Thai person). He used DHL (to courier the document elsewhere)," said the witness.
Ishak later informed the court that the document was dated Nov 24, 2015.
Previously, Ihsan Perdana’s then managing director Dr Shamsul Anwar Sulaiman testified that he authorised three remittances from the company's bank accounts to AmBank accounts ending with the numbers 906 and 880.
Bank accounts belonged to Najib
The court had established that these two accounts belonged to Najib Abdul Razak, who is on trial for abuse of power and money laundering in relation to SRC International's activities.
During the trial, Suboh had also confirmed signing several instructions to SRC International's bankers to remit money to Gandingan Mentari Sdn Bhd between December 2014 and February 2015.
Gandingan Mentari is supposed to be an SRC International subsidiary handling property transactions. Suboh and Nik Faisal are directors at Gandingan Mentari Sdn Bhd.
Suboh testified that he had done so either on the advice or instructions from Nik Faisal.
Ishak: So you (signed) because you were merely following (instructions from Nik Faisal)?
Suboh: I (just) followed (instructions).
Earlier, Suboh told the court that the same Thai person that he met in Bangkok had made arrangements for him to travel to Abu Dhabi, UAE.
The witness said he was not sure why he was sent to UAE at the time, but found out soon after he arrived that he was to be interviewed by the MACC.
Suboh testified that he was also not sure why the MACC chose to interview him while in UAE.
Last month, Suboh testified that he fled to Bangkok when MACC investigations into SRC International began because he "feared" Najib.
He also testified that he stayed in Abu Dhabi for a week before returning to Bangkok. He returned to Malaysia after the May 2018 general election.  -Mkini
