Anwar welcomes news that Azmin isn’t involved in sex clip

PKR deputy president Mohamed Azmin Ali.
PETALING JAYA: PKR president Anwar Ibrahim has welcomed a police statement indicating that his deputy, Mohamed Azmin Ali, was not involved in a gay sex clip.
In a statement, Anwar reiterated the party’s stand against gutter politics.
Anwar had previously said Azmin should resign if it was proven that he was involved in the sex clip, a statement which led to a sharp rebuke from Azmin.
“On allegations that party members and leaders are involved in the video, PKR will not be tolerant and will take strong action against them if they are charged with criminal offences,” said Anwar.
Yesterday, Inspector-General of Police Abdul Hamid Bador revealed that a leader of a political party is behind the gay sex clips implicating Azmin.
Hamid had said an analysis of the video by CyberSecurity Malaysia found that it was very likely authentic although the facial recognition process results were negative.
The person in the video cannot be linked to the individual in question, he said.
Previously, then Santubong PKR Youth chief Haziq Aziz had admitted being one of two people in a viral video of two men engaging in sex acts.
He named Azmin as the other person in the video, a claim the economic affairs minister has strongly denied.
Police have so far arrested 11 people for distributing the clips, including Haziq and Perak PKR leader Farhash Wafa Salvador Rizal Mubarak, who is also PKR president Anwar Ibrahim’s political secretary. - FMT
