Some 80 Perak PKR activists today gathered in front of the Dang Wangi district police headquarters to demand information on the whereabouts of their leader Farhash Wafa Salvador Rizal Mubarak.
Led by Perak PKR deputy head MA Thinakaran, the group claimed that attempts to confirm Farhash's whereabouts with the police had been futile.
"Where is Farhash? We want answers from the police. Our lawyers have tried contacting the investigating officer, but the calls went unanswered," Thinakaran told reporters.
In view of this, he said that Perak PKR cannot confirm Farhash's whereabouts.
According to The Star, Farhash told a magistrate earlier that his last meal was lunch on Tuesday, when he was arrested.
Farhash was arrested in Masai, Johor in connection with the sex video controversy which has implicated a cabinet minister.
Meanwhile, Thinakaran said his group was only concerned about Farhash's welfare and that the gathering tonight had nothing to do with factionalism within the party.
"We have representatives from all 24 PKR divisions in Perak. We are stating our concern for our leader (Farhash).
"This has nothing to do with internal (conflicts). Let the party president and his deputy resolve that," he said.
He said his group was worried about stories of deaths in police detention and wanted to make sure that Farhash was unharmed.
