PKR, DAP, Bersatu and Amanah may operate under the Pakatan Harapan umbrella but the Umno-PAS alliance will also soon have its own name.
PAS deputy president Tuan Ibrahim Tuan Man (photo, above) said Umno and PAS have agreed that their future platform should have a new name.
"In principle, we have accepted the fact that there is a need for a new brand and we will announce it later," he was quoted as saying by Sinar Harian.
He said a special ceremony will be held after the alliance's charter is ready.
"The branding will also involve a number of NGOs," he was quoted as saying.
Tuan Ibrahim, who is also the Kubang Kerian MP, said PAS is pushing for the matter to be finalised in August.
However, he noted that Umno is busy with its divisional annual general meetings and it could be pushed back to September. - Mkini
