
SHAH ALAM: Two women injured when their car was crushed by a falling tree near an apartment in Section 7, earlier, were confirmed as lecturers at Universiti Teknologi Mara (UiTM).
UiTM Vice-Chancellor Professor Datuk Dr Shahrin Sahib @ Sahibuddin posted on the university's official Facebook page that the victims, Dr Nur Shahidah Ab Aziz and Dr Shareena Fairuz Abdul Manaf, are lecturers from the Faculty of Chemical Engineering (FKK), UiTM Shah Alam.
"Dr Nur Shahidah and Dr Shareena Fairuz from the Faculty of Chemical Engineering, UiTM Shah Alam, were involved in an accident this afternoon when the vehicle they were in was hit by a falling tree in front of an apartment on Persiaran Tun Arshad Ayub, Section 7.
"Initial information from FKK at 2.20pm today confirmed that both lecturers are conscious despite their injuries and are currently receiving treatment and observation in the Critical Zone at Shah Alam Hospital.
"We ask everyone to pray for their safety, recovery, and ease in all matters concerning the two lecturers.
"May Allah SWT ease all matters and bless them with safety and healing. Amin," he said.
Earlier, the Selangor Fire and Rescue Department said it received an emergency call regarding the incident at 12.11pm. - NST
