The Public Service Department’s (PSD) Disciplinary Board is expected to convene a meeting “soon” to discuss the findings of a special committee’s probe into MACC chief commissioner Azam Baki’s shareholding issue.
Chief Secretary to the Government Shamsul Azri Abu Bakar conveyed the matter while affirming that he has received the report from the three-member committee led by Attorney-General Dusuki Mokhtar.
“We will hold a disciplinary board meeting soon,” Shamsul (above) briefly told reporters after attending an event today, as quoted by the New Straits Times.
It is not clear whether the board will meet before the cabinet gathers tomorrow.
There are conflicting news reports quoting Shamsul as either saying the shareholdings report or Azam's contract extension will be discussed in cabinet tomorrow.

Government spokesperson Fahmi Fadzil is not expected to pre-empt the disciplinary board during his weekly post-cabinet meeting press conference tomorrow.
Putrajaya has repeatedly said it would wait for the findings of the shareholdings probe before deciding whether to establish a royal commission of inquiry (RCI) into the larger MACC scandal regarding a so-called “corporate mafia” within the anti-graft agency.
The committee led by Dusuki alongside PSD director-general Wan Ahmad Dahlan Abdul Aziz and Treasury secretary-general Johan Mahmood Merican had previously confirmed that their probe’s scope of investigation is only on the issue of Azam’s shareholding and does not involve any criminal elements.
Certain quarters had earlier raised concerns on the committee’s supposed lack of independence, with former PKR deputy president Rafizi Ramli highlighting that those appointed to the committee all report to the prime minister.
Critics pushing for MACC reform also remain unmoved by speculation that Putrajaya might not extend Azam’s contract, with their calls for an RCI to investigate damning allegations against the anti-graft agency only growing stronger. - Mkini
