Boy wins the internet for serving as guide to blind parents

PROBLEMS and troubles are part and parcel of everyday life. Some people thrive in it, while others lament over it as though the world is about to end.

But few realise that the life they possess is actually the dream of another. That is the paradox of life. If you think your life is challenging, then take a leaf from this courageous boy’s life.

In a viral post on X by netizen @dahfollowbelum, the young boy drew quite the attention on the cyberspace for bringing his blind father and mother from Kuala Lumpur to a Nasi Kandar restaurant in Penang to eat.

Photos in the post showed his parents holding on to his shoulders while he navigated this cruel world.

One can only imagine the obstacles this young boy has to surmount to bring his disabled parents from point A to point B.

The journey between Kuala Lumpur to Penang is after all, no walk in the park.

To bless this amazing family, the owner of the restaurant, Nasi Kandar Sulaiman, even decided to treat them with a meal instead.

Not unlike him, our fellow netizens are touched by their plight:

“The child of heaven,” said @AzaharulAzwan while @Pizudin2 inquired if anyone knew the boy and if he could provide his QR code so that donation could be given.

Besides serving as a tear jerker, this story also raises a fine point where donation is considered. As conscientious Malaysians, we realise that there are many ways to help the needy.

Instead of giving money to the migrant beggars on the streets which were likely victims of human trafficking, perhaps we could better channel our good deeds to such deserving people. — Focus Malaysia
