Federal territories PKR chairman Azman Abidin says the resignation of the two executive committee members is necessary to prevent any interference with investigations.

Federal territories PKR chairman Azman Abidin said the party’s political bureau had instructed the branch to inform the two members to step down. It said their resignations were necessary to prevent any interference with investigations by the police and the party.
“We will not compromise or protect members involved in extortion or abuse of power,” Azman said in a statement. “Justice must begin within the party itself.”
Azman also said that the party’s political bureau has instructed the disciplinary board to investigate and report their findings to the bureau.
Earlier today, Kuala Lumpur police chief Fadil Marsus confirmed that authorities were investigating a video showing two men allegedly demanding “protection money” from a massage parlour in Wangsa Maju.
The caption to the video claimed that the men were members of Wangsa Maju PKR’s executive committee. It is understood that one of the men in the video also lodged a police report denying that he was at the massage parlour to solicit “protection money”. - FMT
