 Muar MP Syed Saddiq Syed Abdul Rahman has announced his engagement to actress and singer Bella Astillah, marking a milestone in a relationship that has long captured public attention.

In a social media post this morning, the former youth and sports minister shared that he proposed to the Sandakan-born Bella atop Mount Kinabalu during heavy rain.

“I asked, she said yes,” said Syed Saddiq in an Instagram post.

“Today is our engagement ceremony – please keep us in your prayers.”

The announcement follows months of speculation surrounding the pair’s relationship, which had intensified in recent weeks amid hints of a possible wedding.

Syed Saddiq, 33, had earlier alluded to a significant personal milestone this year, telling supporters that “the time will come” regarding his relationship with Bella.

The couple first sparked public interest after appearing together in marketing campaigns and events – with their close rapport drawing widespread attention online, and their collaboration efforts raising substantial funds for charitable causes.

Despite persistent rumours, both had previously remained tight-lipped about engagement plans.

Bella, 32, had earlier stated that there were no immediate discussions about taking the relationship to the next level at the time.
