Prime Minister Najib Abdul Razak has called on Selangor BN to ensure that are not defeated in Selangor for the third time in the coming general election.
"Selangor is crucial to our nation," he told a gathering in Hulu Selangor.
“(Selangor BN chairperson) Noh Omar said it has happened twice. I am reminded of the song 'Jangan Sampai Tiga Kali' (Don't let it be three times).
“We must make a pledge, we must strengthen our resolve and determination... So that this time, BN will take Selangor,” he added.
Najib, who is also BN chairperson, urged the ruling coalition's supporters to cast their ballots for all candidates regardless of which component party they are from.
“In order for us to succeed in this struggle, we must be united.
“We must accept that if Umno wins, BN wins, if MCA wins, BN wins and if MIC wins, BN wins... If other component parties win, BN wins.
“We should not fight amongst ourselves. We should never 'kerat' (cut). When we cut, (it) becomes short. When short, it cannot enter, there would not be sufficient votes, that is our problem.
“I know there was a disease in Selangor in the past. We must eradicate this disease. This is the recipe for success. When we cut, we shoot ourselves in the foot..,” he added.
Najib said Pakatan Harapan was prone to lying and sandiwara (creating drama), therefore does not deserve support from Selangorians.
"Harapan said it doesn't want to work with PAS, but in secret, they are negotiating with PAS.
"We know they tell a lot of lies. My old friend Muhammad Muhammad Taib has rejoined us and told us a lot of stories," said Najib. -Mkini
