MCA leader: 'Respect Umno ministers' Guan Eng a hypocrite

MCA publicity spokesperson Ti Lian Ker has criticised Penang Chief Minister Lim Guan Eng over his latest remarks on the challenge to engage in a public debate on the undersea tunnel scandal.
He described the DAP secretary-general as the “biggest hypocrite” for stating he was willing to lock horns with Umno ministers as he respected them more than MCA ministers.
Lim had said that although DAP was at war with Umno, the party is respected because it holds the majority of seats in Parliament.
However, Ti pointed out that the chief minister sang a different tune in the past about Umno.
“After degrading Umno leaders and (former Umno president) Dr Mahathir (Mohamad) with all kinds of names and spewing venom, Lim is now saying he respects Umno ministers but not MCA ministers.
“MCA will call a spade a spade. Lim is the biggest hypocrite of all time. Despite numerous allegations of abuse of power and personal scandals, MCA never resorted to attacking DAP leaders or Lim with venom or words of degradation.
“Instead of berating MCA and beating around the bush, DAP and Lim might as well admit they are opportunistic and only interested to eliminate and replace MCA .
“Thus they are now respecting Umno ministers and posturing to embrace Umno the way they embraced PAS, Mahathir, (Bersatu president) Muhyiddin Yassin, (Tourism and Culture Minister) Nazri (Abdul Aziz) and ( Deputy Prime Minister Ahmad) Zahid Hamidi,” he added.
The MCA central executive committee member also recalled how Lim had demonised MCA in the past for its association with Umno.
“Slowly and surely DAP destroyed MCA in the eyes of the Chinese as a result of toxic politics, venom and hate mongering...
“Upon ganging up with PAS and Anwar Ibrahim, DAP gained the courage to attack Umno as a party of corrupt leaders which ought to be demolished,” he said.
MCA deputy president Wee Ka Siong had challenged Lim to debate on the tunnel which is being probed by the MACC.
The chief minister dismissed the challenge, saying he was the top-ranked leader of a party with 38 parliament seats while Wee was just the second-in-command of a party with seven parliament seats.
He said only MCA president Liow Tiong Lai was qualified to issue a debate challenge.
Following this, Wee revealed a list of people whom Lim had challenged to debates in the past where rank did not matter. -Mkini
