The Saudi Crown Prince is right now on another foreign tour. This time I think he is asking for help to get out of Yemen in one piece. And also keep his head on his shoulders.
The Saudis have begun to panic and are sending out 'feelers' to the Houthis to end the war in Yemen and save their face at the same time. That is not going to happen anytime soon. They certainly cannot save their face. Ending the war is also not going to be easy.
The war in Yemen is becoming a major embarrasment. More soldiers are coming home in body bags.
The Houthis have the upper hand. They control territory inside Saudi Arabia. These are the same Yemen territories captured by the Saudis in the 1930s and annexed by them. Since the Houthis have recaptured some of these territories from the Saudis, they will not let go this time. The Saudis are going to eat crow over this.
Making things worse for the Saudis is the fact that the Americans are now going to stop all military involvement in the Yemen. The humanitarian disaster in Yemen as a result of the US Airforce assisted bombing of that country is now becoming headline news around the world. The Americans are part of yet another genocide. The world's attention is turning against the Americans for this murderous involvement.
(Only dumb countries like Malaysia cannot understand this and are still sending military support to the Saudis.)
Without aerial refueling help the US Airforce, the Saudis will not be able to bomb Yemen much longer. That will be the end of the Saudi war in Yemen.
