A police report has been filed on a YouTube video which implicated Prime Minister Najib Abdul Razak's wife Rosmah Mansor in Federal Land Development Authority (Felda) projects, including the rearing of the sturgeon fish.
In a statement, Rosmah's lawyer NoorHajran Mohd Noor said she filed the report with the Sentul district police headquarters this morning.
The video in question was uploaded on March 7 with the title “Mazlan Aliman Amanah-Pecah Rahsia: Isteri Najib Razak dibelakang projek ikan sturgeon yang lingkup (Amanah's Mazlan Aliman reveals that Najib's wife was behind the failed sturgeon fish project).”
Mazlan, who is Persatuan Anak Peneroka Felda Kebangsaan (Anak) chairperson, is also an Amanah supreme council member.
NoorHajran said Mazlan, in his speech, had accused her client of being involved in several projects which were planned and executed by Felda.
“His statement that it (the allegation) is based on information from a Felda officer is a slanderous and malicious allegation made without concrete evidence,” she added.
NoorHajran said such allegations create a poor perception of Rosmah amongst netizens as well as tarnished her client's reputation and integrity.
“After discussing with my client, I was instructed to file a police report on the video.
“We will leave it to the police to conduct an investigation and take the appropriate action based on existing laws,” she added.
When contacted, Mazlan said he welcomed the investigations. -Mkini
