The disruption of water supply across Kuala Lumpur and six areas in Selangor is expected to last until this weekend, according to Syarikat Bekalan Air Selangor (Syabas).
Syabas in a statement said ongoing repair works to the burst Surge Vessel System at the Sungai Selangor Phase 3 water treatment plant are expected to be completed tomorrow and supply restored in stages by 6 pm on Sunday.
“In the meantime, lorries with water tanks will continue to be deployed from nine 24-hour one-stop centres,” said the water concessionaire.
According to Syabas, water supply to areas in Kuala Langat and Hulu Selangor was expected to be restored by 6 am on Saturday while supply to areas in Kuala Lumpur, Gombak, Klang, Shah Alam and Petaling is expected to be restored by 6 pm Sunday.
It was reported yesterday that repair works at the water treatment plant were completed ahead of time but an on-site accident had delayed the water supply restoration schedule. -Mkini
