You spoke to the wrong crowd, Sungkai rep tells DPM

Incumbent Sungkai assemblyperson A Sivanesan today chided Deputy Prime Minister Ahmad Zahid Hamidi of speaking to the wrong audience, in calling for support to be returned to BN in the 14th general election.
"I think the deputy prime minister is a bit confused here.
"He was speaking in a constituency that is not even mine," the DAP representative told Malaysiakini
Sivanesan was responding Zahid's remark yesterday, calling on voters in Sungkai to return their support to BN, as it is the "only party that can help the people, especially in the rural areas."
According to Sivanesan, the place where Zahid had given his ceramah last night - Felda Gunung Besout, was instead located in the constituency of Slim.
Sivanesan, who has been in Sungkai for two terms, also refuted Zahid's claim that only BN can bring facilities and infrastructure to the area, saying BN component parties had failed to bring development while they were in rule there.
"For 25 years, MIC was here in Sungkai, while MCA (currently) runs the parliamentary constituency of Tanjung Malim.
"Today, if you want to blame someone (for the lack of development), blame BN. The parliament seat is in its hands."
"Especially, Tanjung Malim MP Ong Ka Chuan (photo), he has failed to bring investors here," said Sivanesan.
Ong is International Trade and Industry minister II.
'Confident of winning again'
Sivanesan more than doubled his GE12 majority in the last election and is confident of winning again, should he be given the seat this time.
“I am the only assemblyperson who has bought a house and lived here in Sungkai...I am in touch with the voters here.
“After I came to Sungkai, we managed to solve the flood issue in Bidor in 10 months. And in 2008, a Taiwanese factory came here.
“I am confident in winning should I be given the seat again,” he said, adding that only a Pakatan Harapan government in Perak will be able to bring significant change to the people of Sungkai. -Mkini
