GE14 | PKR deputy president Mohamed Azmin Ali had an audience with Selangor's Sultan Sharafuddin Idris Shah at the palace this morning, and left after almost two hours.
"I will issue a statement later," Azmin told reporters as his car left the palace at around 1.20pm.
He was earlier spotted being driven in at around 11.50am. Also present was Selangor chief of police Mazlan Mansor.
Azmin's meeting with the sultan followed Pakatan Harapan's victory with a supermajority in Selangor, after winning 51 out of its 56 state seats in the 14th general election.
Harapan candidates faced BN and PAS' Gagasan Sejahtera pact in a majority of state seats, on top of five-cornered contests with Parti Sosialis Malaysia and Parti Rakyat Malaysia, both of which were completely wiped out.
At the moment, it remains unclear whether Azmin would seek another term as Selangor menteri besar or move on to be a part of the new Harapan federal government.
Azmin successfully defended his Gombak parliamentary seat and Bukit Antarabangsastate seat in GE14. -Mkini
