The police are checking all vehicles exiting the Malaysian Communications and Multimedia Commission (MCMC) headquarters in Putrajaya.
This follows an instruction from Prime Minister Dr Mahathir Mohamad to ensure no documents are taken out from ministries and agencies.
Malaysiakini saw a number of police personnel stationed at the entrance of the MCMC building inspecting the vehicles.
Speaking on condition of anonymity, an MCMC staff said the move could be an attempt to prevent staff from disposing of documents related to the previous administration.
The staff, however, denied the building was raided since no police personnel had entered the premises in search of documents.
Former Communication and Multimedia Minister Salleh Said Keruak was a close associate of former premier Najib Abdul Razak.
