PETALING JAYA: Popular celebrity Azwan Ali says he will not forgive individuals who mock him on social media.
The Star's Malay-language mStar reported that Azwan, who also calls himself “Diva AA”, said he was aware of a viral meme on Twitter that associated him with his estranged brother, newly-appointed Economic Affairs Minister Datuk Seri Mohamed Azmin Ali.
“Even though I do not have a Twitter account, I know that joke (that has gone viral). I know that it is just a joke and does not use any foul words, but I will still not forgive them.
“Go ahead and do it. Continue the lies and pretend to be me. You wait till you’re tortured at your grave next time,” Azwan told mStar..
In his interview with mStar, Azwan said he has not patched things up with his brother, against whom he ran for the Bukit Antarabangsa state seat in GE14.
“I still have not opened my heart to forgive him. I will not forgive him even though he has become a minister,” he said.
Azwan added that he currently only has a Facebook account after his Instagram account was hacked for the fifth time. The latest hack was two weeks before GE14.
He lost his deposit after obtaining only 90 votes in the polls.
When asked about his plans, Azwan said he was resting at home and wanted to focus on Ramadan.- Star
